    Thumbs down 2nd GD test...eeek

This morning I have to go for the 2 hour gd test because the levels from the first test were high, I've fast from 9pm last night and I have to have blood taken at 9am and drink the glocose stuff, then not eat for another 2 hours and have blood taken again.
I'm going to be starved by the time I leave there. I really hope that I don't have gestational diabities, I'm not sure if I have the energy to cope with it....
Wish me luck... take care all....

Oh good luck Rose!! Lots of ladies have to have the 2nd test and they come out fine, so try not to fret. At least you have a supportive Ob now (thanks to YOU don't forget!) who will be able to assist if you do develop GD. Take a banana or something in your bag so you can eat as soon as they've taken the 2nd set of bloods - that should give you enough energy to get to some proper food!

    Will be thinking of you.

I had the 2hr test last week. Starving I walked into the pathology place at 8.45am to the smell of freshly cooked toast, then an hour and a half later they all came out to eat there lunch at the front desk (as they dont have a tea room).....that was fine until one came with a hot footlong subway sub (you know what they smell like). I commented saying "you really are cruel people aren't you!". They all apologised LOL!

The one with the subway even groaned whilst she took a bite as to how good it was. Funny chicks, my poor belly.........I made up for it when I got out!

Good news is my sugar was perfect! Funny Story though

Hay Misty, you don't need to fast for the glucose challange and you have to drink some glocose drink and then sit tight for an hour, then they take blood, then that's it

As far as test results go I'm still waiting, considering they said I had to do it urgently!
It turns out that there is no-one that can read it, my Doctor is away and the other doctor that odered the second test is in surgery all day yesterday and the reception said it'll be tomorrow before he reads it
    So I wait....

Thumbs down The results are in.......

The Doctors surgery rang and said the Doctor wants to see you about the results (there you go I have GD, he wouldn't want to see me other wise) So the first appointment they could give me was next Wednesday, in the mean time I'm going to see the diabities lady on monday to get things started, then see the doctor, then go from there.
I really don't need this, my life is stressful enough, now my stress levels are through the roof my husband keeps reminding me of how complicating I am and is worried I'll end up in hospital before I'm due and how will he cope (he been really sick). I'm just so tired.... I think I need a long holiday. You watch now that I've got such a problem to deal with, the next ten weeks will go by painfully slow.....
    Take care all.

    Oh Rose,

Once again i would remind you that YOU are not complicating things! THis is the bubby you're getting, it can ONLY come to you and DH and these are the circumstances you all have to endure. It is not YOU doing or not doing anything love.

If you have to go into hospital before bubs comes (which is very unlikely) DH will cope. Are their friends or rellies who could come and help out? Or rellies your other kids could visit to lessen his load? Either way it is for a short short time in the scheme of things - you get your new baby *forever*

My brother has had type 1 diabetes all his life and when their friend had GD his son said "Daddy, is it because the baby is sooooooo sweet?". Awwwww! I'll bet that's what it is ROse, you got a little bag of sugar in there

Take care, good luck for seeing the nurse and keep us updated on how you're going.
