31 weeks and baby is breech

I'm sure I'm worrying for nothing but please hit me with your positive stories about your breech baby turning in time for a vaginal delivery

I had a checkup with my OB today and my little ratbag is sitting pretty in the breech position with its head jammed up fair under my ribs. At least that explains why I'm so damn uncomfy up there! My OB is not the least bit concerned and said we'll wait til 36 weeks to see what happens before we start looking at my options but, me being me, I went straight into panic mode. I really don't want CS!! Getting ahead of myself much???

I'm going to get acupuncture done ASAP and I'm already well aware of the Spinning Babies website and various other favourable positions to help bubs turn as DD was posterior from around 36 weeks. I just need to think positive I think so please help me girls!!

Something like 25% of babies are breech at 33 weeks, but only 3% at 40 weeks.

My baby turned at 33 weeks. I had spent the previous 2 weeks mopping floors and sitting half the day with my head on the floor and my arse in the air. I felt her turn at night.

I cant see how far along you are but My baby now was still breech at 32 weeks and my dr said there was still plenty of time before we should start to "panic". I'm 36 weeks now and baby has since turned. I didn't feel it tho, must have happened in my sleep!
My sister in laws second turned at 39 weeks. I'm sure they'll flip shortly!
If you want to be proactive about it a friend of mine said a chiro was able to help her baby to flip. Not sure how they actually do it but if you have a reputable pregnancy/baby chiro in your area that might be worth a shot too?

    But DON'T PANIC!

Eta. Er. It says in the title how far along you are. Oh my brain! Sorry love!

My bub was bum down until he went kinda horizontal for awhile. At my 31 week check he was still lying across...my last check he was head down

It's hard not to worry but there is still time and they have lots of room to move in there still

My brother was breech until 37 weeks. Bub will probably turn.
    Good luck!

THere is an incredible film made in Australia called "A Breech In The System" IF you can track it down, watch it, I found the whole story so incredible and of course cried like a baby watching it!

Yep. The odds are still very much in your favour

My second was breech until 33 weeks - I felt him do a huge roll when I reached the bottom of our stairs one day.

Working with someone at the moment who had a breech babe at 31 week appointment - he turned three days later.

Getting really gung ho about turning baby now is probably a bit premature since they still have plenty of room to do whatever they want (including flip right back!). But in another couple of weeks if he's still head up, I'd be getting pro active. Sounds like you know what you need to do

Good luck but I'm sure you'll be fine!

Hun, I think 3 of the girls in our belly buddies thread were still breech at that stage - and we're all head down locked and loaded now Try not to stress too much, there's plenty of time yet.

When mum had me, was due on the 9th April, breech until the day before I was born on the 18th April, flipped over. I know someone else on BB has a similar story.

    1. Trust your body and your baby. Talk to baby!
    2. Spinning Babies website. Make it your friend.
    3. Acupuncture - both needling and moxa an help babies turn as well as stress or other possible blockages in the body
    4. Osteopaths - check out pelvis and alignment etc.
    5. Don't stress. Baby is breech and you are stressed or baby is breech and you are not stressed - I know which is more fun. It is what it is and you can make more clear, decisive action when you are thinking in a calm state

My SIL is a chiropractor and has had a few successes with the Websters technique to turn a breech baby.

Just wanted to add that I was breech until the last days of my Mum's pregnancy! Her OB kept manually turning me and I would just flip right back

Ah, feeling SO much better now! Thanks lovely ladies!! Will be sussing out all the extra advice you guys have given me and have stuck my positive thinking hat back on DH and I had a few stern but cheerful words to my belly last night, I'm certain our baby will be very obliging.

Ironically there was a breech/transverse baby on One Born Every Minute last night so we got to see what the manual turning technique is like. My OB mentioned it briefly to me yesterday but didn't want to elaborate as, yes, I was getting way too ahead of myself.

Positive thinking - this baby will turn. Watch this space!!
