36+ weeks and extremely sensitive/painful nipples????

Did many of you, or have many of you got extremely sensitive/ painful nipples at around 36 weeks?

You know the feeling you have sometimes when you are in early pregnancy and it is unbearable to have anything touch them?

Relle - I have been getting shooting pains through mine the past few days and only the left one. It got pretty painful last night.. rubbing didnt even help!

Maybe our breasts are getting themselves ready for the milk to come through? Or I could be totally wrong as I have never been through this before

ive had that for the last week, but it has been weather related too, no matter how rugged up i get if i go somewhere and its cold my nipples really freaking hurt i want to take off anything thats touching them.
But then again im overdue, i remember getting them more sensitive from around the 35 week mark though but they went back to normal around th 38wk mark and are just now super sensitive to the cold weather

Relle, I got that really bad with Lindsay, but I can't remember how long I had to go. I couldn't stand for anything to touch them - even warm water in the shower hurt. They stayed that way after he was born too and made it quite hard to BF because of the sensitivity (I'm not saying that will happen to you, but jsut illustrating how sore they were for me)

Relle, I'm exactly the same at the moment! So sore to touch, having difficulty getting them into my bra in the morning!!

    Ah, the joys of mummyhood!

Mine sting & are as itchy as all heck too!!!!!

I just leave the Colostrum which drips out of them to dry before putting on breast pads & a bra & it seems to have helped a bit!!!

Thanks girls, so nice to know I am not alone!

I have loads of colostrum and have done since the beginning of the pregnancy, but just this sensitivity - what a killer!
