With DD1 I had 6 hours of back pain (she was posterior) and then my waters broke. She was born 8 hours later. I didn't associate the back pain with labour though because I was only 36 weeks and wasn't expecting to go into labour.

DD2, I had one strong pain all of a sudden and then gave birth to her four hours later. No warning at all.

One thing I have found is that a lot of women have days or even weeks of pre labour and don't even realise it's pre labour. I have also found from personal experience, that when you stop thinking "when is it going to happen!?!" it happens....murphy's law good luck with it all xx

with DS nothing, then 5.15 am period like pain, waters broke at 5.30 am, contractions started - he was born at 6.27 am.....and no indication at all...I had woken at about 3 am and was on the computer sending emails to everyone saying that I had no idea when this baby was going to come (I was one week overdue)....

I have 3 boys, first one I went into labour 2 days past his due date, at 1am, woke up my partner - said - we need to go to the hospital...he was born at 8.35am

Second son was induced at 37 weeks due to pre-eclampsia. Third son was induced 10 days over. So anything is possible - this time I have had the few days in a row of BH contractions, but then nothing...so I don't know what to expect this time....

But it'll happen when you least expect it...lol, always does!
