Alone for Christmas coz Fiance is Overseas!

The first Christmas I lived with my now DH I spent pretty much alone. I was 18yrs old & his parents hadn't accepted me into the family.
My parents were in SA & my 2 sisters & their families lived up North from me & I didnt drive or have a car.
DH's family were having a big luncheon (something I now get to enjoy too) but his parents, more his mum I think, wouldn't allow me to join him. So along he went spending half the day with his family while I sat at home crying. I didnt even have my pet cat at that stage so I was totally alone

Later that afternoon DH's brother rang & asked if we wanted to join them for his wife's side of the family Christmas BBQ. So along we went late that afternoon & so I got SOME type of Christmas that year but still felt very rejected & alone.

Thank goodness for video conferencing so you get to see your DF on the day
