    Driving??

This might sound like an odd question but for some reason I have it in my head that it is not recommended to drive from the 38week mark................no idea why this is in my head so thought I'd get your thoughts....................as it seems like an odd thought to have

Not sure about this, maybe insurance won't cover you? I hope there isn't another reason cos I've still been driving and are 38+4 days. Oops..........

I haven't heard this before, but it sounds like a good excuse to get DH to drive everywhere

As long as you can reach the pedals!! you should be ok - i drove up to 41w 3days!! Admittedly I didnt go very far... I was a bit paraniod about an accident though becasue my belly was sooo close to the steering wheel - but as long as you are comfortable and your insurance covers you, you should be fine- just take it easy

Make sure that the lap part of your belt is going underneath your belly not across it.

Thats one of the most essential factors of car travel in late pregnancy/

It's probably more for the fact that anytime from then you can realistically go into labour... so it's probably more for your own peace of mind. I still drove right up to the day before I gave birth...obviously I didn't know until then...lol, but only was driving a few km's to the shops when I did drive on my own cos I was too afraid to venture too far from home!

I have driven right up until its time with both the boys, and will do so this time round as well. Definately ensure your seat belt is positioned under your belly though - like Jacqui said.

I'd be in serious trouble if I couldn't drive, I would not be able to get to my ob appts, let alone the boys things!

I got my licence the day before I was Due with DD#1 ( shoul have seen the look on the coppers face when he asked me when I was due it was priceless )mind you that was 15 years ago they won't let you do that now, as far as driving after 38 weeks I think its ok just do the seat belt under the belly .

WoW Motherduck - that would've been funny. I bet the policeman freaked a little.
