    Another Mucous Plug Question

    Hello!!

I've just read through the other mucous plug post about what it looks like and all that - very interesting stuff!!

Anyway, I'm nearly a week overdue and definitely just lost mine, however it was more of a clear, jelly like mucous and there wasn't any streaks of blood in it at all. I was sooo hoping that it meant labour was just around the corner but now I'm thinking maybe its not!! It seems that when there's blood in it - more like a 'show' that labour is closer - is that right??? I'm being induced on Wednesday night/Thursday morning depending if they need to use the gel or not and I'm desperate to go into labour beforehand. This is the first sign of hope that I've had!!!

Is there anything else I can do now that I know my mucous plus has come away??? I'm jsut about to go for a nice long walk and see if anything happens - please, please, please let this be it for me. I can't take much more and am just sooo eager to meet my stubborn little bub!!!

I never got blood in my show until about 11 hours before DD arrived!

Maybe some nipple stimulation or DTD might help a bit?

Oooooh yeah, Kel, I forgot about nipple stimulation, definitely give that a go! You can even do it one handed while typing on BB..........

No probs - go for your life!!

Just thought I'd give you all an update - after loosing my mucous plug yesterday, I'm now officially in the early stages of labour!!!! It all started at about 2am this morning and my contractions are fairly regular. Will wait as long as possible before going to the hosptial though!! All very exciting.

Good to see someone has made progress with lossing their mucus plug!(i'm jealous
I've had 2 shows over the past 3wks, last sunday had braxton hicks pains 5min apart for 1hr(thought yep this is it), then last friday had pains 5mins apart for 3hr(really thought this was it!), but nope my baby doesnot want to come. I've had period pain cramps and all. You name it i've had ALL signs but nothing seems to come of them.

Are these all pre-labour signs or third trimester sysmtoms!!

Good luck with labour and birth, hope everything goes fine....
