    anti-d @29weeks

just had my appointment where i thought i was going to get the anti-d, i am 28 weeks. however the doctor said they only do them on mondays and that i was to come back next monday. so i will be 29 weeks and getting the anti-d. when i looked at my blue book she has written that i am currently 27 weeks. so originally i thought she knew what she was on about and it doesnt matter if you get the injection at 29 weeks, but now i am thinking well if she thinks i am only 27 atm then i am on track to get the shot next week being 28. long story short, is it ok to get the anti- d at 29 weeks?

    HI Holly

What do you scans say ? How old is your baby by the scans? As i went by my scan dates although my pregnancy dates were 3 weeks ahead. Yes i was 38 weeks LMP when i had Ali but he was 35 wks scan date at birth.

Have you read the BB article about anti-d? I have more questions than answers about it....

My midwife said they normally schedule them at 28 and 34weeks.

However it is okay to give or take a week.
I had mine at 29 weeks ad I will have the second one at 33 weeks as it turns out. Its just the wa my appointments are.

I wouldnt panic I am sure your little chicken nugget will be okay

Eek... I didn't have mine at 29 weeks! Was I supposed to? Yes I am Rhesus negative... I had a shot when I had CVS at 12 weeks but haven't had a 29 week one... I'm going in for my 34 week checkup next week... am I too late?

probably not since you had one early on. i think you just get the 2 during pregnancy and then one after birth if your babys blood test comes back as positive.

    OP
    you will be fine

This injection is given during pregnancy as a 'just in case' most women will be fine without the injection during their pregnancy

Like ALan said OP you should be fine. Definitely remind them at your next appointment though. I think the most important one is the one given to you after the baby is born as it helps protect future pregnancies.

Thanks Alan and ladies... I called the midwife at the Obs' office anyway, she said to check with the Obs at my next appt which is Tuesday. She assured me I won't keel over or anything like that!

We do worry ourselves, don't we!

I'm having my first shot next Thursday and I'll be nearly 32 weeks
I was concerned about this and rang the hospital and the midwife said it's fine
