I'm still enjoying being pregnant for the most part, but I have to admit that the swollen ankles, waddling, big belly, breathlessness, reflux...sometimes really get to me.

I NEED a new pair or knee-high boots, but my ankles are too swollen to fit any - and the shop assistants all think it's because I'm overweight, so they look at me patronisingly and say "we don't have anything in your size." It takes me 10 minutes to roll over in bed. I take twice as long to walk anywhere, to the point that DH and I have to plan our shopping trips around places where I can sit down and rest. Eating dinner leaves me breathless and give me reflux, to the point of exhaustion.

No one talks to me about anything other than birth, breastfeeding, nappies, and how "big" or "small" I am. I have three degrees FFS, I can talk about other things!!!

And my DH is also making sound effects for impending birth. He also thinks my boobs should be a national icon (they're certainly big enough).

But...I'm still loving being pregnant and am so looking forward to meeting my precious little man. No doubt at 40+weeks I won't be feeling so patient.

Yeah DH does like to make fun of me at times, he laughs when i try to put pants on and makes loud explosion noises and gestures when he plays with my belly(apparently simulating labour)but he also calls me a tummy princess and rubs my back for me, so i forgive him

Today, i am getting close to being over it. i woke up again this morning all swollen and looking like the michelin man (got checked out yesterday, and blood pressure/urine/bub activity & heart beat all good). it has come down but it's stillnot comfortable or attractive.

I am trying to finish the curtains for bubs room and struggling to move around.

bub is getting lower (which is good) but more of my tops are not fittting or not long enough, and i don't like tummy hanging out, so my wardrobe is becoming more limited.

    ok, that's enough.

i am still loving bub wiggles, and starting to wonder if i will miss them when bub is out in the world.

Kate - I definitely missed some of the aspects of being pregnant for a couple of weeks after I'd had DS - probably most particularly the wiggling that goes on. It was one of the most unexpected things, and almost a kind of grieving in a way. You spend so much time being focussed on pregancy, or thinking about what life will be like once bubs is here, so I reckon it's good if you can go into things kind of expecting to have some transitional emotions. It's one of the things that I wish I'd been told 1st time around.

    ...word....

I'm right there with you all, but I did also experience some mourning last time.

I love being reggers, but there are some things i could leave.

FYI sex only works if the cervix has already softened, it just helps to hurry up dialation a little bit.

Also not a fan of wives tailes here, but am trying to encourage this little cherub to make it's way down, as my bubs like to sit up nice and high.

what I have particularly enjoyed in the last week or so are the following observations that have been shared with me.

    Gees, your really big
    looking very pregnant there huh
    not long now
do you know what your having
when are you actually due (I have been lying about the due date the whole time) - standard answer is soon
    are you over it yet?
    you look tired

way to make a girl feel good!
