    Baby movements or contractions

Can you confuse baby movements for contractions.

Does the baby move during them ?

i cant remember from my lst pregnancy but im getting quite painful crampings/tightenings in my tummy up the top goes like a ball and the rest is rock hard but the baby moves aswell - can the baby movements set of painful BH's, or could it be the start of labour.

    I havnt started timing yet

For me contractions did not come close to anything I had during pregnancy. It was a completely different feeling altogether.

You will soon know if it is labour or not! I know with DS it was definately different but then again i don't remember getting any BH.

    It could be BH.
My contractions were more low pain. Right down there & back pain with my last two.
I don't know how to describe it, but I knew exactly what it was, its just knowing if its real or pre labour I had problems with.
I'd start timing to see if there's any regularity.
If you lay down & it slows/eases its probably pre labour. If it keeps going it might just be the real thing.

    Good luck girls!!

    Hi,
I was told by my GP that BH should not be painful. You would definately know if you were having contractions. The tightening of your tummy would be the start of contractions but the actual pains are felt lower similar to bad period pains. With me I never felt my babies moving during contractions so can't help you there.

Even though BH's aren't meant to be painful... I had painful ones Keep an eye on it, but I did read somewhere that if bubs is moving during or after, then they aren't a contraction.

I could feel my bub move during contractions, so could well be labor. Goodluck
