    Question Baby toy question

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this question.

Going through my "to get" list at present and am trying to decide on baby bouncers. What are peoples thoughts on soft toy attachments versus hard plastic ones? My preference is for soft toys however does anyone know if (1) makes any difference to baby and (2) if one stimulates baby more than the other (3) if plastic is better becuase less germs than soft ??? Am hoping to be able to get bouncer with vibrate mode as well as some sounds.

Any assistance/guidance would be gratefully received.

    Cheers Meadsie

We didnt get a bouncer but we were given SILs rocker & that came with a toy bar. It had soft toys on it & DD wasnt phased by them.
It all depends on personal preference I think. But the plastic ones would be easier to clean

    Thanks Daydream Believer

Reason I am thinking of bouncer rather than rocker is that I've been advised that rockers can't be used from birth where as most bouncers can? Were you of the same opinion or did you use rocker from birth?

I used the rocker from birth, but it has an adjustment thing on the side so it goes from lying down to sitting up. DD still uses it now

I had a vibrating bouncer that came with soft toys for the girls & a rocker for DS. Used both from birth - my rocker was adjustable. Laid down & sat up.
They aren't too fussed on toys at the start, but I think bright colours would be my preferance. Soft toys can go in the washing machine

    (1) makes any difference to baby and As per question two's answers dont think baby is gonna be fussed either way.

    (2) if one stimulates baby more than the other . I wouldn't say one is more stimulation that the other at all some babies like certain shapes and colours while the next child may not be fussed

    (3) if plastic is better because less germs than soft ??? Am hoping to be able to get bouncer with vibrate mode as well as some sounds. I have spoken to many ppl regrading the vibrating and i have felt the vibrating bit personally i didn't think it vibrated that much it was so soft i could hardly feel it so wouldn't spent extra just on that feature alone. I would choose something that would last more long term like plastic but more like rubber so you can pop it in dishwasher or clean it easily plus something that detaches so when they are bigger you still get the use.

thats just my personal opinion i am a mother of 4 children hope this helps

we've got a music and vibrating bouncer and DD loves it. It's great to put her in when i'm in the shower so she can sit in the bathroom with me and if i'm in the kitchen cooking or something. I don't think it matters what toys are on the toy bar, we hardly ever use the toys that actually came with the bouncer, we just put her favourite ones on there. And we've only just had to change the batteries so they lasted almost 4 months of almost every day usage

We brought a Fisher Price Newborn-To-Toddler Rocker. It's great. They can be used from newborn to 3 years (18kgs) old. If you goggle it you will get all the info.
