i had a scan at 37 weeks with my son and they told me he was 7 pound 7 ounce , i had him one week later and he was 3690g which they told me was 8 pound exactly
with my daughter they told me at 36 weeks she was 2.4kg i had her at 38 weeks as well and she was 2.7 exactly, so there is i think they say 700g either side. at least ur bub is doing very well to be that big already hehehe
With DD#1 my obs felt my tummy and gave me an estimate and said that she would make it just under 4kg. She was born 3915g. So he was correct. Although he went by feel, not scan.
Regarding your scan, at 29weeks DD#1 was estimated to weigh 1.7kg so you may or you may not have a larger bub.
At 34 weeks I was told I'd be having a 7 to 7 1/2 pound bub at full term. I gave birth at 38/4 & he was 7 pound 13 so would've been even bigger had I got to 40 weeks. I expected a smaller bub to be honest as both my ex and I were small bubs.
My obst says that weight estimate scans can be inaccurate, more so earlier on, and that the best way to gauge it (if you've had a baby before) is to compare the size of your belly with the last time... although it's a little hard to remember specific weeks is it not?
But it makes sense... if your belly's bigger this time then chances are it's a bigger baby.
