Hello ladies,
I really need some advice asap.
At 2 am i woke with a very tender tummy/guts. I went back to bed okay, but found it hurt a lot if i moved or changed position in bed.
I woke up a few hours ago, and im getting really painful stomach cramps. But they are higher, above my belly button. They are coming in surges, every ten minutes or so, and are quiet painful (literally feels like someone is twisting my stomach)
Could this have anything to do with labour/braxton hicks? or would all this tend to be lower if it was in relation to the pregnancy?
It feels similar to what i experienced at 33 weeks, however i went to hospital, and hooked me up to a monitor, and couldnt detect any contractions, and put it down to a stomach bug.
Im just very worried, should i go in to see a midwife, to be safe? im 39 weeks today.
Yes, babies can move throughout your entire labour
Is the pain coming and going? Is it getting stronger? Have a lay down on your left side for a while and see what happens.
the pain comes on really strong, then stops completely, then comes again, then stops again.
It seems a little stronger. I was laying down in bed, and they seemed just as bad, so i decided to get up., Should they ease if i lay on my left side?
I just called midwife clinic, and they said it could be early stages of labour, but im to take panadol, rest up, have a bath, and see what happens.
Its just very high pain, seems more like its my stomach, than down lower in my abdomen?
Laying down should ease pain that isn't contractions. A bath will also sort anything out that isn't labour. Different women experience different pain. You might just not be the text book labour-pain type of person.
It sounds like early labour to me. Put your hand on your tummy and if your tummy goes hard when the pain starts then it is a contraction. Most women feel contraction pains down low to start with however sometimes the pain can be first felt anywhere.
My tummy is very hard as it is, so its hard to tell if its tightening
The pains have eased, so im thinking it may have been a tummy bug.
Ill get to bed early tonight, and see how i feel in the morning. At the moment I got mild back ache...and feel very tight in the tummy
It sounds just like pre labour hun. It can come & go. The back ache is a good sign too.
I'm pretty confident that real labour is not far off for you Could be a few days though.
lol, alan, you had me confused then, cause my fiance's name is bj, and i was like...what the? how are you agreeing with him..then i saw you meant in regard to bjrose's reply lol
