Best method of Nipple stimulation? Alan?

Hi all, I am just after some "best practices" for nipple stimulation as a method of natural induction. I had some great tightenings last night and am looking to help get these into some decent contractions.

I have a Medela mini electric breast pump, and have just done 20 mins on one side and am having a few tightenings.

So what is your method and was it successful?

    Hey Relle

When I was in very early labour with Violet and Emily I just rolled them in my fingertips. I would switch sides fequently so my body didn't get over it too quickly. But because I was already in labour I didn't need to do it much.

ETA... With Violet I had been having pre-labour pains for a couple of weeks. One morning I woke to them again and thought... I am over all these useless pains and decided to see if I could take them futher. I used nipple stimulation and labour never stopped

Relle, Sorry hun. Just have to say it. Don't you know now how to stimulate them best by now ?? What about DH ?

Seriously though, I sat myself in the bath tub, locked the damn kids away and just rolled them. Be careful though, you don't want raw nipples when you have your new bubba !!

Alan, thought you were getting lucky then hun

I just had a bath before and then went for a walk in the freezing cold Melbourne weather, so I must be getting desperate! lol

These are all great ideas but it comes down to what works for you. If the breast pump is working then keep using that. You can freeze any milk that you get. Also try the above suggestions.

    Thanks Alan!

The Breast pump worked on the one side for a little bit, but nothing since. I am going to take a break for a couple of days now and just give my head a rest! lol

Relle i do hope things move along for you soon. I know how frustrating it is. I just wish that i had used my second date from the U/S rather than hospital i would have been pleasantly surprised and not so stressed by it all.
It will all be over before you know it.

(yes i know i have to change my ticker people but i havent done a photo yet).

Just have lots & lots of s*x. My very close friend is due in just another week, she was also told apart from s*x to eat lots & lots of curry.

    All the best.

PMSL - I knew you were getting desperate Relle, but soliciting offers...!!! My goodness, this bub really does need to come out NOW!

Keep walking, Relle. I hope that jiggles the little one enough so that he thinks he might be better off NOT head-butting Mummy's pelvis.

Hoping to hear it all gets going soon.

I have been taking it for the team regularly enough too - my DH doesn't know what has hit him! But it actually seems to get things moving for a little while, but then it petters off again!

Hmm, maybe more pumping from me (Breast) & jumping on a trampoline???

Or a few goes around the block on the back of the harley!????

That is hilarious! I was cracking myself laughing the other day cause DH was so serious. I asked him why he was so serious and he said that it didn't help that both kids were screaming and he was under pressure to "perform!" lol poor baby.

It is a bit of a joke though, I am saying "oh my back/hips" and he is saying "oh my knee!" fine pair we make!

We haven't got a trampoline, so that is a no go. I tried the pumping, but it didn't really do anything. Maybe I should give that a go again tonight.

Maybe you need to go out and DTD on the trampoline and take the breast pump with you
