I'm getting Braxton Hicks alot, for the last week I've been getting throughout the whole day, things like walking and housework bring them on and the hurt if I don't sit down, but if I sit down it eases, I find that it takes me all day to get the cleaning done, because I'm sitting down so much. (On average every half hour)
I was wondering if it was true that if you get alot of Braxton Hicks then you could end up going into labour early?
Also are they bought on from the mum been stressed? Yep I'm stressed
I'll be 29 weeks tomorrow.
Thanks.....
Hi,
I havent experienced any braxton hicks yet but I have heard that some things you do can bring them on. As for going in to early labour.. I am not too sure!! Hopefully someone else can say whether it means that or not.
Hi,
I've been experiencing braxton hicks since week 23 and like yourself, they strike when i am walking, cleaning, and even shopping for groceries! Not fun at all. I find i have to sit down also to ease the discomfort. Although i don't have any answers for you, i too am concerned about the same thing and would like to know if this means early labor? I will keep an eye on this thread!
Wishing you a H&H pregnancy!
BH are more common with subsequent pgs. I had them second time around, just like you described, but not with my first pg. My ob assured me that it didn't mean early labour. Tom did arrive 3 1/2 weeks early, but I think it's far more likely that 4 days of gastro brought that on rather than the BHs.
Im 39 weeks and before have had occassional braxton hicks but not often at all but this past week they have got exactly the same as yours very regular tightenings and having lil pains with them and sometimes the pain doesnt go away and i need to be walking around and sometimes sat down but its when im active and doing things that they come on but they are quite often also it hurts in my vagina when i got them this week aswell, this could be very early stages for me so midwife told me and im having a sweep on monday anyway and been trying it all to bring it on properly. Just hoping that my cervix is ripe and soft and this sweep should help me along "fingers crossed"
Well, that's good to know... I havaen't gone early as yet either. It won't help me in labour either because I'm having an elective ceaser, so it's all the aching for nothing I hope things go smoothly for you 1st time mummy 2 be, sounds like your fairly close now, lucky you! Just think very soon you'll have you little baby
Thanks everyone, I'll stop streeing about them and just deal with the Braxton now
Take care all....
