    Braxton hicks or contractions ?

I have been having heaps of braxton hicks not really painfull, a little bit but o.k.
not regular , but sometimes comes 5 minutes aoart for 3 or 4 times then nothing ?
sometime waking me up cause they hirt so much, or i have to stop walking cause i cant walk.

with Ds ( 3 weeks early ) labour, had a show then pains started an hour later

with Ds 2 ( 1 week early )just having bh had no show or anything. 3 hrs of 5 mins apart BH like pains then waters broke and i gave birth 9 while DH was parking car ) lol

With ds 3 ( 2 weeks early )and a 2 hurs later contractions started and another 3 hr short labour

well now i am woried cause i dunno if the pains are for real or not !!!!!!!!!!!

my DH/ doctor ( not really doc) checked my cervix and he said it is all squishy not pointy. aparently squishy means it has thnned a bit ??????????? who knows

    any advice please ??

Couldnt hurt to go get checked out by the midwifes, especially if they are not going away

If you are getting worried go and get checked out xox

It could be pre labour, which can last a few weeks before hand.

    exciting!!
Yeah squishy cervix means its on its way, (it softens, then thins, then opens) but just like those early BH/contractions, it can happen well before true labour.
I did heaps of reading on when labour actually starts, and the thing is, theres no real definition.
Mild contractions could last only a few minutes before the stronger ones start, or it could last days

the thing is, the pain is definately for real, so no matter how long it lasts, use whatever techniques you need to cope.
I think they dont call it real labour until they are regular and stay that way.

but whatever your birth plan is, you're allowed to progress to the next stage of it whenever you need to!

wishing you all the best for a smooth, safe and confident labour!

thanks for your replies guys... i woke this morn with a very painfull stabbing pain in my lower tummy area... sort of near my ovaries but it was only one then went away.
i had a false alarm with DS 3 about 5 weeks before he was due and had pains every 5 mins started dialating then nothing ?!. i dialted 2 cm then had another 3 weeks of waiting ??/?

im coping with the pains and since theyre not regular i dont think it is the REAL thing..... but i dont think it will be long

    getting nervous now

well now i need to add to it "pre labour"thats what the midwives call it anyways

i started labour.. pains coming every 6 minutes and even midwives said looks like real thing, but nothing was happening........

    so went home.....
only to come back that evening with 3 min apart pains

this time something was happening. i have dialted 4 cm

    baby is engaged really low....

    plug has come out....

but now i have had nothing 18 hours. not even a hint of a contraction ?????????????????

but it must be close now and doc says i wont last the week

fingers crossed no more false pains !!
