My naturopath definitely believed in magnesium and had me take it when pg with DS3 - not just for BH (to minimise) but for general well being. You can buy it in a spray bottle too, and you give yourself x-amount of sprays per day.

Hey hun, I have been taking 2 magnesium tablets a day since about 8wks along as well as drinking a glass of Indian tonic water (yukky stuff) before bed but I am doing this for leg cramps/restless legs. Lately I have been a bit slack in remembering to take the tablets. I started getting BH around the same time you mentioned and this time they have definately been different to last 2 pregnancies. I would imagine I would have to take a really high dose of Magnesium for it to do anything for the BH but it works for my cramps.

I know not much help for you but just my experience so far.

Hmm thanks ladies. I guess I will keep taking the 2 a day for now, my Dr friend said she takes that just for good health, and that 500mg a day should definitely be alright. Will speak to my Ob on Friday and see if there's anything else he'd recommend

From my experience, Magnesium takes a little while to build up in your system. I take them for heart palpitations and they took a couple of weeks to come into effect. Hopefully you are getting some relief, soon, if not already
