just wanted to know if anyone else is still breech this late in the game and if anyone has any suggesstions about turning breech babies that they have used and worked.
I cannot go for an ECV so any other suggesstions would be appreciated.
I really want to avoid a C/S so any help or advice would be great.
I can't give any suggestions for getting bub to turn but my Mum told me I was breach at 38 weeks, turned at 38 1/2 weeks and was born at 39 weeks. My sis had her 3rd bub breach until a couple of days before she was born.
Hopefully someone has some things for you to try to get bub to turn but whatever happens as long as you get a healthy bub at the end of the day its all that really matters.
My first was breech at 38 wks... I did have a c/s with him, however having said that... to be honest I didn't know that there were ways to try to help bubs turn. I had an xray to measure pelvis size and was advised not to try natural due to my size... but... the following I did with my second to try to make sure he was right way around.
You can rock back and forth on all fours to try to encourage baby to turn. Also stand with your arms resting on kitchen bench (or similar) and rock your pelvis so it tilts in and out. If you have a gym ball you can sit on that so that your back is straight and it will tilt your pelvis. Other than that I haven't tried anything but I have heard of acupuncture helping some people. I hope that bubs turns for you very soon
I tried an ECV the other day and it failed, I have now tried 5 sessions of moxybustion, 2 sessions of acupuncture, inversion postions, ice, music and the pelvic rocking/tilt positions and bub is still in the same position...... so i have just accepted that she is just very comfy and does not want to move.
I am booked in for a C Section for next Thursday so heres hoping that she decides to turn before then and if not I will get to meet my beautiful little girl then anyway.
mecil make sure you ask them to do an u/s just before you go to theatre.
Only takes them a few minutes to check, there would be nothing worse than finding out baby was head down after they've done a caesar.
Happens more than you'd think
