    Bub has hiccupps 4-5 times a day..normal??

    Hi there
My bubba seems to get the hiccupps atleast 4-5 times a day, usually if i move suddenly, or roll over in bed. Sometimes i can even feel them start when im sitting at the computer or watching tv. They usually last about 5 minutes..
Is this normal for 34 weeks and 3 days pregnant? Or is my bub going to have digestive problems...Is it all normal for him/her to get the hiccupps this often?

Miss B would have them ALL the time hundred times a day - and each time they would last at least 20mins! they were annoying than but i miss them now!
She got them alot after she was born also - but now no more than normal!
She didnt have any problems - however did have silent reflux?! no idea if that was related but now no problems at all!

    Hi first time mummy

I hope someone else can clarify this for us as I'm in the same boat as you! I'm pretty sure it is normal, someone once told me that it is a really good sign as it means the baby is doing really well. Not sure of the logic behind this though or if it is correct. My little one gets the hiccups a lot too, I usually notice them about 2-3 times a day but I'm sure she gets them more often I'm just too busy to notice them. It feels so cute! But I always feel for her too, I think, oh the poor little thing it must be awful to get the hiccups so often!

I got them heaps when I was preg too and now DS gets them all the time. Don't worry, I remember reading that it is a good sign cos it shows that your little bubba is practicing breathing the amniotic fluid in and out.

Perfectly normal. They do say its a sign of a healthy baby. All my babies have had the hiccups inside, apparently they are learning how to swallow and stuff like that

Oh, and FWIW, DS had colic and a bit of reflux, Miss M had silent reflux... so there might be a trend there, but its hardly scientific

I'm in the same boat! Several times a day.

Can anyone clarify what it actually feels like? I really don't notice them unless I place my hand on my tummy.

I feel mine heaps easy, i dont need to pop my hand on my tummy. it feels like a pulsating jerk that comes and goes in intervals of about 3-5 seconds. Usually a session lasts about 5 minutes or so, but mine vary.

And its usually down lower, just below my belly button. I think its cause bub is head down, so its chest is probably sitting just behind my belly button

Is it okay for them...health wise...to have them this often?
