Question Can someone enlighten me please?

Ok - I have a dr appointment tomorrow but can someone share their knowledge with me.
I'm reading my ultrasound results and it says...

The placenta is anterior and is greater than 10cms clear of the internal os. Cervix is closed measuring 3.5cms
I get the bit about the placenta. Whats the measurement of the cervix refer to??
I don't really know much about this kinda stuff

Well as far as I know, it means that your cervix is still pretty long (people with short cervix's usually need them stitched to prevent pre-term labour).. I think...

    So its a good thing.

You cervix is a good length

    FWIW
If anyone is interested here is a chart for Cervical Length Percentiles throughout pregnancy.

Anything less than 2.5cm or 25mm is where the limit for a cervical suture which would need to be placed between 12-23 weeks at the absolute latest.

I am hoping for a long measurement on Wednesday, my first was 2.5cm and second was 2.79cm, so really hoping to be beyond 3cm
