Checking Cervix Question

TMI, sorry guys.

So I started with the evening primrose oil and was going to do it myself so had a check to see where my cervix was first to see if I could reach it. Well, there was no way I was getting anywhere near it with this big belly in the way, lol. So looks like it's DH's job.

So anyway, I told DH to have a feel first to see where my cervix was so he knew how far he had to get it and he couldn't reach it either! WTH? Where is it??

LOL.. don't stress DH couldn't find mine either - and he has VERY long fingers (you've seen how tall he is!)

Just because you can't feel it doesn't mean anything, your baby will still come through it. Plus its still pretty early so I wouldn't worry - DH only felt differences in my uhhh downstairs area after I was past my due date.

The dr at hossy had trouble finding mine when I was 41 weeks! I did go into labour 3 days later... a lot can change in a short time.

Errr do you normally make a habit of checking your cervix a lot when you're not pregnant?

I've never tried to reach mine, figure its outta my reach for a reason!

No, I did when I was TTC with DD and it was easy to reach.

Um I really dunno about it moving up during pregnancy, but maybe your DH doesn't know what it feels like, cos I know my DH had no clue, even though I described it for him... they don't have that part, so I can't really blame him for not being sure if it was what he was feeling or not.. LOL... and maybe you couldn't quite get the right angle cos of your belly when you were trying?

I think as you get closer, it pulls up, ready to soften and open... most people can only feel it when its longer and harder.. as it softens and pulls up, it gets harder to find......

I have found mine almost flat, against the vagina wall, with my last 2 just before labour...

It is very high up during pg, and drops as it ripens and readies for labour. I could never reach mine either

MadB, I have always been the opposite, but that doesnt surprise me!!!

Mine is low and long, and was with the others. Very easy to reach.
I'll know I'm close because it will start to go "up" and disappear.

Mine too! I was about 24 weeks when I could no longer feel mine.

i think the length of the vagina can vary - I know mine is generally hard to reach, except just before af.
Is it weird that I know that?

im with the clueless people....would know what to look for last time with IE before having DD it seemed very hard to find for my OB....keen to avoid to many IE this time, might be good if i could check myself! any tips.....
