I put mine in almond kernal oil - just a few drops - its strong stuff and I didn't want contractions to be too strong (or start up when not ready) cos its not good for VBAC's apparently.

i used almond oil with mine
i used it from 39 weeks and i went 6 days over, but labour was very quick and not to painfull.

i dont think in water would work, though you can put it in an oil burner and the smell apparently helps as well.

    Hey Kamarine!

I've been burning it everyday with Jasmine and also had some made up by my aromatherapist... she said to use it during labour to help with the pains but it would also be ok to rub into my belly now because I'm so close to my due date.... its mixed with almond oil!

I tried it in buckets when I was 10 days late with DS1 and it did bugger all...

I mixed it with Olive oil and rubbed it on to my belly.

I might try the olive oil (Im assuming the stuff in the kitchen is the same stuff lol?) cause I'm not sure if we're going to the shops again for a while. Kicking myself when I realised. The only shop we will visit tomorrow will be a supermarket - do they stock the almond/apricot kernel oil?

I don't have an oil burner and I'm a bit nervous with them, we've got an over energised kitten and wooden floors. (So many breakages from her )

What ratio of oil/other stuff did you guys use?

    Thanks again.
