    Colostrum production during PG...(possible TMI?)

Just wondering if any of you experienced colostrum production / leakage & at what stage of pregnancy.

With my previous bubs I leaked from some point in the third trimester... but I can't remember when!!

This time around there is nothing. I am wondering if this means anything?

I really can't remember how far along I was with the others when I noticed it, only I am sure it was by now (36 weeks tmorrow). And it was usually noticeable after DTD (or during).

Would it be normal for it to occur with some PGs but not others?

Advice / opinions mcuh appreciated! TIA

With Brendan I started leaking at approx 16-18 weeks, to the point i had to sleep with a towel.
With Bubble (current preg) I'm not even leaking, there is some there... but it's not leaking like it did with Brendan. I'm 34 weeks tomorrow.

I don't think it means anything TBH.

I leaked pretty copiously with ds last year while pregnant, from pretty early on too, after dtd and after the shower mainly, (or just laying on my side !LOL!)
I have heard that its pretty common and means absolutlely nothing in regards to milk supply or bfing if you dont have any leakage. It will all still be happening as it should, just behind the scenes iykwim!

Jasp- I started leaking at around 30 weeks, and about a week ago I started leaking constantly. At night (because I sleep on my side) I have to wear breast pads or else I will leak all over my sheets and clothes. This is my first pregnancy and I have never experienced any thing like this before, it is almost annoying.

No leaking here!! However at my antenatal classes the midwife told us how to manually express. Of course I went home & tried it But was very pleased to see that there is definitely something in there!!

My experience has been the same. First pg I leaked quite a lot in the 3rd tri. 2nd pg I didn't leak once. I am breastfeeding Phoebe with no problems. I had colostrum there straight away and my milk came in on day 3. All good Nothing to worry about.

I don't leak as such but if I squeeze my nipples I get some out. With DD1 I could do this by 20 odd weeks, with DD2 nothing at all, and this pregnancy I could do it from around 32wks. Just a couple of days ago DD2 cried and I had a very tiny leak but enough to leave a spot on my shirt.

Apparently this has nothing to do with your milk supply/production once you've had bub.

I've never had leaking in any of my pregnancies but could express some out by hand if I tried.

I have been b'feeding DS during this prg and am still feeding him but it seems to have made little difference, still no 'leaking'.

I don't think it has any bearing on milk production or supply, I have never had an issue with either.
