Hey girls - finally made it back here!!!

Congrats to Ali on the birth of Barnaby and flygirl on the amazing delivery of Richard!!! What a story!

My Sophie was born on Monday 1st March at 5.50pm after a long process!!!!

I went into hopsital 5pm Sunday and had the cervidal tape put in - stayed overnight - and by morning my closed cervix was now 1.5cm dialiated. Waters were broken at 7.30am and contractions started straight away - 4 every ten minutes but they had hardly intensity. But they were enough to keep my on my feet. They checked my cervix at noon and nothing had changed!!!! So the drip went it and they upped it bit by bit to 24ml. Contractions increased slightly bit by bit in intensity. At 4pm they checked my cervix and it was only 3cm!!! I was distraught and exhausted. I could not believe it. So they gave me a big increase with the drip and the contractions came so hard and fast they had to turn the drip off! I started pushing at 5pm and bubs was born at 5.50pm, with no stiches!!!! No pain relief! Oh, I had forgotten how much that bloody hurts!!!! But I have recovered so quickly!!

Bubs was fine - she had four blood sugar checks in the first 12 hours and all was good - a great relief!

She is only tiny 2.9kg born and 48cm long. (my son was a lot bigger) Sophie is ravenous - feeding every 2-3 hours. She is a week old today!!!

Lis - good luck!!! Sounds like you will be induced like me. The cervidal tape did not hurt one little bit for me - so don't worry about that! How are you feeling???
