Is cramping normal at 33 weeks?

    Hi all,
Hoping you can help me! I am 33 weeks and 2 days have been getting cramps (like period pain) for the last few days on and off. Is this normal in later pregnancy? Also i think bubs may have engaged as she seems lower down and when I fell her hiccupping it feels like its coming from my below my pelvic bones. Maybe this is causing the cramps. Its hard to say how bad the cramps are as I have endometriosis so am used to having severe cramps where I throw up, faint, scream in agony etc. Also feeling nausea.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cramping CAN be normal and labour pains can actually feel like period pain.
I found with my DD i had cramping but it was more her sitting on nerves etc, if your worried maybe just call your GP, it could even be braxton hicks.

Doesn't hurt to be safe but if you can feel bubs moving i am sure things are ok!

    Good luck with it all.

I am not sure if its normal or not but if you are experiencing period like cramping AND nausia I would get in contact with your Ob or hospital JIC. Especially if it has been going on for a few days.

I don't want you to panic by my saying this but I was experiencing the same type of things for a few days before I was admitted for preterm labour, but the pain was increasing.

Hoping its nothing and just the normal pregnancy woes

    Hi Hon

Get checked out just to be sure but I've been having period type pains since about the same time as you. My OB said it's all just prelabour and it's not uncommon to start around the thirty week mark or so.

Hopefully it's just your body preparing for the job ahead. Good luck!

I'm 32 and a half weeks. Felt like I've had period pain all day today. It doesn't really come and go like contractions tho, it's just there. I can feel it in both back and front. And I too feel the hiccups down low too now. It's the achey, uncomfortable part of pregnancy that I've done so well to avoid til now!

In my opinion it's all normal but if you're worried def see your OB / GP / midwife.

Went to the hosp and had me on a monitor, it did show a few contractions but nothing regular, they told me to come back if it gets worse or if the cramps have consistency and regularity to them!
Thanks for your help girls. I think its my body telling me to slow down!!!

Glad you went to the Dr's and that things have slowed down. Rest up and take it easy, I hope that things settle and you have a few weeks of baking to go!

Having been on the prem rollercoaster myself I would definitely be resting up as much as possible for a FT bubba! I also had a posterior bub so all back pain, but my waters broke first so I knew things were definitely starting!

    Take care and rest up
