Cramping and Pains. Anyone experienced this??

    Hi Ladies,

So I am 31+3 today but have been measuring 2 weeks ahead and had to go into the delivery suite last night to be monitored as they thought I was possibly having contractions. I have AWFUl sharp stabbing pains yesterday morning in lower abdomen and then last night it was a really bad aching period pain that went into my back as well.

Luckily everything turned out ok. No pre term labour and cervix looked long and closed. Bubs heartbeat was good and they decided that it was more the likely strong BH and growing pains. sent me home and told me to take panedine.. which helped. its now just a dull ache and a bit more sore when i cough.

I thought that BH was more a tightening of the tummy up the top rathern then lower down???

Also bubs head was down which is good but for some reason they found the heartbeat really high up so they thought she was in breech...Is this common??? makes me worried.

    Any help appreciated....

Sorry you are feeling this uncomfortable,

I was getting strong af pains and didnt notice my tummy tightening, i emailed my ob, and while waiting for his reply text a GF to ask if it can be BH, her reply, .......'yes, enjoy those! lol

Anyway my OB got back to me and said that BH can be felt as af pains, then later i started to get the tightening at the same time, i stopped taking my RLT and the BH also stopped the next day?

i will start the tes again next week, im not ready to birth my baby yet! eek

My BH for the last two pg have been what you are describing, really strong back pain and af cramping in my belly. With dd2 this did turn into pre term labour at 35 weeks, the difference was that they even stronger, were regular (5 minutes) apart and could be recorded by the monitor. I also had to really concentrate on my breathing, but most of the pain was in my back.

I hope it all settles down for you over the next few days.

with my first pg the BH felt mostly like tightenings across the top of belly.

BUT this time they are alot more intense and do require me to lie on the couch and do my 'calmbreathing' exercises to get through particularly *interesting* bouts. i find that certain activities set it off...mostly walking strangely enough...i can scrub the floors til the cows come home, but walking really kicks it off.
i get sharp stabby pains atm with the BH i *think* due to bub's position. she seems to be really at the front and my stomach muscles have separated somewhat so i guess it is alot of nerve banging going on...

big i hope that it settles down for you babe...doesnt sound like fun when it gets to the stage of needing monitoring

Hi hope the BH are treating you well and you are resting up. I first started to experience this yesterday and had no idea what it was and since then just can not get comfortable and the baby has been extremely active and not letting me sleep at all.
