Did you have signs before you went into labour?

    Hi there,

I am due in 2 days with my second child. So excited but nervous as well as I am trying for a VBAC this time. Just wondering if many of you had signs before actually going into labour? I have been gettimg mild pains down low for the last few days but that is about it. I haven't had a show and bub is pretty active. So sick of the waiting! I just want labour to start so I can meet my little one. If I go too overdue I will have to have a csection, so I think this is making me even more anxious (even though my csection last time was fine).

    Thanks for any replies xx

    Hi!

With my first i had pre labour pains all day and then my waters broke late afternoon. With my second, I felt really really really sick like morning sickness had come back about four days before I went into labour. I felt fantastic again the day before labour. I had no real pains before I went into labour with dd2 though. Just one really sharp pain and then the contractions started. Good luck with your VBAC!

I had a show on a Tuesday and had a lot of irregular contractions after that happened. Then on the Wednesday I was more tired than usual (I didn't realise that was possible), and then at 2am on the Thursday morning my waters broke and I was in full blown labour half an hour later.

I wish you the best of luck with the arrival of your little one.

    hi,
I had pretty much no signs at all. I couldn't sleep the night before i went into labour but I wasn't in pain or anything, just couldn't switch off. the next afternoon my water broke and the day after that, there was my little boy!

Probably not much help I know! good luck with the VBAC!!!

Don't know if this is relevant as I was induced.

I was induced because they had to closely monitor little one and had protien in my urine.

The ob didn't believe me when i said i'd had no pain but was quite alarmed upon examination that i'd dilated 5 cms without even knowing,Was promptly booked in to be induced. All stages of labour i was giggling through contractions prior to needing to push without pain killers.

My mother had no idea she was in labour until she felt the urge to push. Which was lucky she was having asthma problems and was in hospital for monitoring anyway

My friend was having random contractions for 2 weeks prior to having her baby.

So I guess I'm saying that I think it depends on the individual.

    HTH!

DS1 i had slight twinges in lower belly, went to sleep and woke up with them being much stonger and had a show. Then had contractions at home for 12hrs before we went to the hospital. Waters were broken by dr at the hospital.

DS2 my waters broke after a shower. I had pains on and off a few days before hand.

Good luck i hope things start moving for you really soon

Having had 2 sections myself, and not gone into labour - I probably shouldn't comment, but I just wanted to say try not to be anxious about going overdue. Try all natural induction methods to help your body along, and just try to relax and let whatever be - be.

If you stress out too much, it can stop labour from naturally occuring - which is a double-edged sword cos all you want is to go into labour (believe me, I know - I was 2 weeks overdue with Miss M and had a c-section)

So thats my advice. Try not to think about. Take long showers and try to bond with your baby and release any stresses you think are holding it back.
    Good luck with your VBAC.

I had a very mucous show (no blood) about a week before, around my actual due date.
Besides that, no signs whatsoever! lol
    I went 8 days over.

Good luck! Try and relax and enjoy the last days of your preggy belly! Good luck for the birth
