Has anyone else had dizziness in the 3rd tri at all? It kinda came on gradually last night after dinner and is a bit better this morning after a sleep, but is still there. I'm just getting headspins when I move suddenly. I was just wondering how common it is or if I should be getting on the phone to my dr?
Dizziness can be normal, it could be your blood pressure or just the extra volume of blood rushing to your head when you get up suddenly (you have lots of extra blood atm!). You could also be coming down with something.
Do you have any other symptoms like swelling or a headache? If so, contact your Dr straight away.
If it is really concerning you though, definitely call your Dr, even just for reassurance. I hope it passes soon.
Hi Hun. I popped this in an email to you. You may know I am also prone to dizziness.
Just like Trish said, the increased blood volume from PG makes your heart work harder. As you know, I have leg supports to help keep the flow "north". I have been advised to get out of bed slowly, stand up slowly, keep feet elevated when watching TV, etc.
Another reason can be low iron. Are you taking a supplement? If you see your Ob maybe get this checked with a BT.
Finally, another reason can be dehydration. The extra blood and constant formation of amniotic fluid (the latter is replenished something like every three hours) means you need to keep on top of your H2O.
I do think you should phone/email/see your Ob to put your mind at ease. OK?
Unfortunately I am suffering some dizziness, although it has eased a bit this week.
I can get it at any time.....sometimes after I've done something strenious but sometimes I feel dizzy when I'm still laying down in bed.
I have discussed it with my ob and we have ruled out most of the usual things (iron level came back fine, I'm drinking plenty of water, blood pressure is OK when tested in the obs rooms, not getting headaches) and my ob wasn't overly concerned. Just one of those things that is par for the course for pregnancy.
Having said that I have found that sometimes I don't eat alot (I still have nausea most of the time and don't feel hungry) and if I up my food intake, especially at lunch time, it can be a bit better. Perhaps have a bit extra food and see if that helps?
My dizziness came on at about 30 weeks & none of the 'usual suspects' seemed to be the culprit... BP was nromal (ie not high or low) iron was a bit low but not enough to cause dizziness.. it would sometimes come on after i stood suddenly etc, but not always, sometimes for no apparent reason at all..
It was VERY uncomfortable, a little worrying... I'd suggest getting checked at least for your own peace of mind? I did & there was nothing to find, but knowing that everything was ok made me feel better.
The only solution they could offer was that i needed to 'take it easy' and I did ease up a bit... over the past couple of weeks it has gotten better & tbh I had forgotten all about it until I saw this post...
So yeah, more than likely all is well but it made me feel better to get checked out JIC.
