I know this is something I should ask my doctor, but I'm not seeing him til Tuesday and haven't really thought about it much til now.
Every time I see him he asks where I'm getting most movements, I tell him and then he feels for the baby's position - I assumed me telling him where the movements were helped with that. But the last two times he's said "We like lots of big movements up high". I know the 'big' part is because that means it's feet and the baby's not breech, but does it matter if there are also lots of little movements down low? Isn't it normal for her to be moving her hands too?
Just wondering if it matters if I feel lots of movements all over, or if I really should just be feeling them up the top?
Thanks Heaven, I hadn't considered that it could mean she's posterior! So far she hasn't been at any of my appointments - either to the left, the right or straight out in front. But considering she can move that far I'd assume she can swing around to posterior too - bugger!
On Tuesday she had her back to the left, and I just assumed she hadn't moved because the little movements I'm feeling are only on the right. I'll definitely keep track of it though, if they start out the front I'll check out the site again and do what I can to shift her back.
That's good she's been anterior at your appointments! Both my DD's kept moving around all the time right up until labour, mostly anterior but sometimes posterior. I just made sure I kept up the good posture and got on my hands and knees a few times a day and they sorted themselves out when labour started
Well, I can tell you with my little 'persistent breech' baby... all my movements are up high. So I'm not convinced that where you feel most movement is necessarily a good indicator of position
The movements are different, such as definite kicks to the cervix (ouch!) but most of the movements are up the top.. being the head and hands.
Yeah that's what mine are like berrme, small and to the side. Not feeling the head on the cervix yet though lol. I reckon we had a knee or something poking out the other night, was very surreal! But yeah, thankfully no hands in the ribs
