Does EPO work best taken orally or internally?

    Hi,
Just wanted to know what you all thought on EPO. Do you think it works best taken orally or internally? Or both?

you can take it both ways. I read somewhere that if you insert it it helps more as its closer to the place it needs to go, kwim?

    Hi mummy mel

I just posted a similar post regarding these alternatives for shortening and bringing on labour... I think they say that inserting PV is the best way but you have to have it up on your cervix (and after the 'how do you know how far dilated you are post' i realised i cant even reach my cervix! lol....) so thinking about the tablets but you have to take heaps!!!!!!
I have also read that you shouldnt take them prior to 37 weeks incase you have a premie....
    no idea!
How are you hanging in there btw?

    Hi Princessmya,
Thanks fo asking, I know it is still early days for me yet. But since being told at 32 weeks after they stopped an early labour, that I could go anything now, is making every day take forever IYKWIM. It is probably my last pregnancy so still just really trying to enjoy every day that I'm still pregnant, it is such an amazing feeling, isn't?
Still getting lower back ache, occasional period type pain, cervix pain, frequent stools, but who knows what all this means, nothing I bet. I would love to get to 37 weeks. But as soon as that comes and passes, I say BRING IT ON

As for the EPO, I think I will wait until past 37 weeks then I will start inserting some

Yeah it is so hard. You spend all this time counting to days of pregnancy excited now you count the days till you are due! lol

I have been having so many pre-labour symptoms over the past 3 weeks that i ignore them now! it is all such a tease - i guess Jnr will come when he is ready....
Must be hard knowing you were going to go early and now wondering if you still will.
what are you now 35-36 weeks? So anytime bub could try to arrive again hey!

OMG Princessmya, I don't want to get your hopes up but that definately sounds promising. The fact that this time it has pinky bits in it sounds very promising. Brown normally means old blood, can sometimes be caused from intercourse or internals but pink is a good sign, maybe things are starting to open up down below, causing some minor blood vessels to pop. Oh I hope for you that things are getting alot closer And it is definately possible to has another show. In some women, they loose their MP over several weeks, as it is possible for your body to keep replenishing it, was there much? I keep loosing parts of mine (well I think it is anyway), haven't had a whole heap though, just bits of chunky orangey type mucusey parts, but I think it's becuase this is my second and I'm a little dilated already, as it is common to be for several weeks before birth. But as this is your first, I'm feeling confident to say that I would put money on you going soon (touch wood)!!! Keep us informed of your daily progress PLEASE!! Maybe in the labour section, you could start a thread!! I'd love to follow your progress, I love the excitement in the last few weeks.

    Mummy Mel
Last time was exactly the same (3 weeks) ago - 2 x clear mucous jelly with bright red streaks then a blobof brown with red swirl. (sounds terrible huh!). I had a little bit of blood yesterday and then today the brown + red.... no idea...
Have been having increased period pain today though - but like i said i am not getting my hopes up because i get dissapointed when it all goes away in a few hours!

Maybe i should get my fitball and do some squats with my breast pump! lol

Now that would make for a funny sight
Well good luck anyway, I exactly how you feel though about not wanting to get your hopes up, but it's got to happen sooner or later right?? I just hope for you it's sooner rather than later

I have been taking EPO since 28wks (but only 1 capsule orally daily and have just gone upto 2 capsules daily)...the reason why is because of this:

Like all herbs, the use of Evening Primrose Oil can take a month or two to build up, and produce the results you are looking for.
Once I hit 36 weeks I will then up my dosage again to 3 capsules orally daily....I won't be inserting.

So far I haven't had any ill effects or anything from taking EPO so I am not too worried...I just don't want to go overdue again!! (Went 11 days overdue last time)
