Sleep has been a bit of a challenge for weeks now, but the past few nights have been really bad! I've had insomnia like crazy, coupled with leg cramps, painful braxton-hicks, restless legs, and the usual night-time bathroom trips. Total sleep 3-4 hours. Nights are long and nasty, and I don't really want to go to bed and start it all over, even though I'm exhausted.
Funny thing is, I can sleep during the day. DH very sweetly tucked me into bed this afternoon and watched the girls, and I slept for 3 hours! No problems. Why is night so different?
Anyone else? Got any suggestions? Thankfully we're coming closer to the end! I can't wait to sleep again! I know I'll be getting up with baby, but it won't be this bad!
I hear you Cricket! I resorted to sleeping meds in the end cos I was such a mess (- tho only took them for one night and then next night my water broke)
Hang in there! I know people say it prepares you for being up with a baby - and tho my sleep is interrupted now - the quality of the sleep I do get is soooo much better!
The end of the discomfort is in sight - get as much daytime sleep as you can!
I totally hear you. I am having the same issue. Daytime sleeps are not an issue, but night time ones are so broken and sometimes I am just laying awake. I am really looking forward to when baby is out so that I can sleep better (when baby is not feeding/ crying).
I found a lot of pillows, heat packs and some TLC from the other half helped me sleep, the recliner was my best friend as I could still sit up right but lean back enough to sleep without my head rolling around.
Hope you feel better soon, you will have your bubs shortly... then comes the fun with the owie tailbone and tummy when sleeping
I am exactly the same Cricket! Sleep so well during the day - horribly at night! I am so uncomfortable I want to cry my back and pelvis are killing me! I feel your pain - I wish I had some answers for us
Rach xx
Sorry I don't have any advice but I can sympathise with you!!
It's really not fair is it? We should be able to get as much sleep as we can while we can. I have painful Braxton Hicks, toilet trips, reflux waking me up. And I can't roll over in my sleep anymore so I wake up all through the night with a painful hip that I've been laying on. I reposition myself knowing that I'll only wake up again for the other hip soon. And there is also the times I just wake up & have no idea why & can't get back to sleep
I completely agree with you - I hate going to bed because it's so awful!!

I'm only 29 wks myself, and I am already like that! I go to bed at midnight, then up at between 3:50am and 4:40am.. sometimes I can't get back to sleep! Then, when I do, it's up again at between 6:20am and 6:50am - then the alarm goes off at 7:01am for DH for work and goes on and on until 7:45am - and then when I am trying to get back to sleep, can't sleep and am on and off from 8am to 10am which is when I can't sleep any more - Big big hugs for you!
Im only 27 weeks, and i hate trying to sleep too.
I dread the night time, i usually lay there, unconfortably bloated, and legs cramped up and aching.
I usually end up falling asleep for a few hours, but always wake up again.
Try resting as much as you can during the day when you get a few spare hours...it works wonders lol
