Yet another question.. Is it normal to have painful period pain everytime I move? 34 weeks today and possibly lost my mucus plug last night.. I'm seeing the midwives tomorrow, but Im just curious to whether this is normal?
How about giving the midwives a call and explaining to them what's going on - they might want to see you before tomorrow's appt? They may not, but it might put your mind at ease. AFM, that's just what all my contractions felt like, strong period pain, I didn't realise that's how they'd feel to me and I'd been having 'period pain' for about 5 days before giving birth. If in doubt it's much safer to ring and check....good luck! Sounds like your body may be starting to fire up
Is it only when you move? I would tend to think that is more ligament pain from the uterus growing. I get this almost daily now at 27 weeks. However if you are concerned, just give the midwives a call and see what they think. better to be safe than sorry.
I'm thinking liagament pain - i've had that type of pain for sometime and kept freaking out that i was going into labour. But def give the midwives a call if your worried. xxx
When I move it gets worse.. and takes about 5 minutes to settle down again. I've had the ligament pain for a few weeks that feel like that, but today I wake up in tears because I've tried to move during my sleep and it has hurt so much I'm a sook.. I called the midwives last night about the mucus plug and they just said it's fine and I may just go a bit early..
Give them a call again, my contractions were like period pain too I had no idea I was in early labour until my waters broke. Is the pain constant or does it ebb and flow?
I had the constant period pain with hard belly for 2 days before DS was born and had no idea it was early labour. It didn't get worse, it was just always there and then my waters broke and things got started properly a few hours later. As for the tummy being hard, mine's like that most of the time at the end with both DS and now with this one... there is simply nowhere left for bub to go. I think you should definitely call the MW again whenever you're worried - that's why they're there. As for the plug, that can happen a few weeks before giving birth and all the prelabour stuff can too. Good luck though, hope bub stays put a little while longer for you.
