Due today... ways to bring on labour...

ok I know the obvious ones..... my cervix is 0.5 open so don't really want to do the deed, and to be honest couldn't imagine doing it right now...

    but any other ideas?

I found walking helped with dd3. If nothing else the fresh air is good and it passes sometime

If you don't want to actually DTD, just skin on skin cuddles with your DP can help. Nipple stimulation. Orgasm. None of those actually require DTD! But they all promote production of oxytocin, the "love" drug that kicks off labour.

Acupuncture can help too. Do you know a TCM practitioner?

Walking helped me too SB. When DD was a few days overdue I did laps and laps of the park.

    A buddy swears by acupuncture.

Fingers crossed things start happening soon.

Buy some really nice new knickers and hope like crazy your waters don't break. And fresh bed sheets.
    pineapple?
    Swings at your local playground
Swimming - can help baby change position and engage
Plenty of spare curry at mine tonight... But I reckon Tom yum works better.

I was due Monday and still no baby. I've done acupuncture for 4 weeks, inserted epo (and taken orally), raspberry leaf tablets, walking, bouncing on fit ball, nipple stimulation.

Hope your baby cooperates unlike mine

from my experience nothing works and these little people come on their schedule. All I can suggest is that you plan a week's worth of lovely activities for yourself - mani/pedi, gold class movie, nice lunch out (if food is a good thing at this point!). Enjoy your last few days of just worrying about yourself, as well as filling your time and giving yourself something to look forward to each day, even if its not the event you really want. Hugs to you - its hard staying patient once you reach your due date.

Yep, I agree with the girls above. Bubs will come when they're good and ready and you may as well pamper yourself while waiting. I cut laps and laps with DS1, walking with the dogs, walking up hills, eating curry, acupuncture... I was completely stuffed by the time I got into labour at 42 weeks.
Hopefully your little one will get a move on asap! Good luck

Totally agree with the above. I went 13 days and 11 days over. I was a desperate wreck! But nothing I tried worked (and I tried everything). Try to do some really enjoyable things. Good luck - you WILL have a baby soon!

Thanks girls... I did all the pedi, massage stuff the second week of my maternity leave... my ob won't let me go past Sunday due to my history so that's why I was trying to go into labour naturally.... started raspberry leaf tea and smelling Clary Sage but so far no movement at the station... my back is hurting though so I hope that is a good sign... oh well, I would say he is really comfortable in there and doesn't want to come out into the cold... he has no choice Sunday/Monday though...

    thanks again girls...x
Good luck! I wish my hospital would do that! Im still waiting and they won't do anything until the 12/8!!!

Hope you have your little man soon

I hope your little man decides to make an appearance on his own before induction.

Either way, good luck for a beautiful birth Silver Bell. Can't wait to read your BA
