hi there, i was just wondering how to know when the baby engages! i asked the doc and he said i would feel discomfort in my inner upper thighs! is this true? i seem to be going to the toilet alot more the past 2 weeks like every hour to hour and a half at night and i find it hard to walk too much! i am also getting alot of lower back pain! and if i move around too much the braxton hicks just start going off! im only 35 weeks pregnant!

I wondered the same thing & someone told me that I would know when the baby was starting to engage. They were right!!
You'll notice that your belly is lower & because of this you'll also be able to take a deep breath (finally!!). There will also be more pressure on the bladder, so more frequent trips to the loo. You will also have aches in your lower back, legs & groin area & will find it harder to move around.
My midwife told me that babies can engage as much as 4 weeks before the due date & still be late!! My baby started to engage around 35 weeks too.
Sounds like things have definitely started to get moving for you!!
I've known the exact moment my last bub engaged and when this one did! This bub engaged last Thursday. I started getting "twanging" pain in my upper thighs/groin area and I feel like I have a bowling ball between my legs LOL! Less room in the 'ol bladder too
Kittytat if you are having it at the local hospital give the midwives a call and ask them
All the best and if you have it on a weekend you might have my SIL helping deliver your baby
