Engaging - I should remember this!

Went to my 36 week appt and baby was not engaged (nothing new there - neither of the others engaged until the last minute) but since then I've had lots of... well, it's not exactly pain, just more increasing discomfort on my cervix. Does this mean she's engaging? I also feel quite 'low' but looking in the mirror, I can't decide if she's dropped or not. I do think it's a bit easier to eat and breathe, though...

She could have moved slightly and allowing breathing without engaging. I have only one child but I thought many 2nd and subsequent babes often do not engage before the onset of labour. Maybe someone can clarify that? Good luck with it, hun

I went to my last ob app on the wed and bub had previously been 3/5 engaged but her head had popped back up to 4/5 and i went into labour on the fri. Like you I'd had the sharp cervix pains for a few weeks before.

Silly, really, since I know they can engage and then move back up again... I guess I'm just a bit impatient! (And uncomfortable! We're going to have a week of over 36C every day...) Thanks for your input, girls.

that's what I always thought too, but DS engaged around 36 weeks. He arrived at 38wks, so it was all a bit painful down there for a couple of weeks. I have to say though, my belly didn't drop as mil kept commenting that i was still really high so bub couldn't have engaged and there was no way I'd go early.
