    Hi Laura
The antibiotics will not matter. Take the EPO as directed on the bottle and also insert 2-3 high up into your vagina at bedtime. Put them as close to your cervix as you can. It will be a good idea to put a pad on because the oil can leak out when you get up

Laura, it is not just first time mums that ask all the questions!!
Alan, if you are still looking at this thread......how early should you start on the epo, I was induced last time and ended up with a c/s, this time i am having a home vbac, and want to help start labour naturally as much as I can. Am planning on having acupuncture from maybe 37 weeks, any other suggestions.

I suggest you start EPO from about 34 weeks

You can not insert them too far just put them in as far as you can. If you have a big tummy you may need to get DP to insert then (if he will).

I think if you insert them the length of your index finger will get them into just the right place .....

Alan- I know its always good to ask just incase just sometimes feels like im asking about everything lol but i guess 1st time mums and ladies that have had quite a few babys ask questions all the time!

Have not tryed EPO yet as i had sweep today which seemed to go well 1 cm dilated and cervix is at station -3 so at the beginning which is a start i spose but got midwife again thurs for another sweep if this one hasnt worked, so still waiting so didnt wanna use EPO till i had this sweep today so will start this tonight, also been doing alot of walking so i hope this can help me on my way as midwife is hoping a will loose my plug with having this sweep as i did bleed a little!

So have been reading ur questions and answers and i will makesure i insert EPO capsules as close to cervix as pos like one of u said the length of index finger should reach it.

Id like to thank you all for your help and advice and especially thanks to you alan, much appreciated!

Will let you know when i have had my lil girl, fingers crossed now it wont be long!

    Hi Everyone
I'm starting to think EPO might be good in my situation too. Alan... if I could ask you your opinion, I'm a gastroschisis mum being induced at 37 weeks, would you recommend I try using EPO and if so when should I start? (I'm 27w).

1st time mummy, glad the sweep went well, I cant wait to hear your good news!!!

Laura that sounds so posative, good luck I hope this is it for you.

Alan, just a question LOL, can the EPO bring on early labour??? I am looking at being induced just after 40 weeks as my hubby works away and I really want him here, so I have discussed it with my OB and he has advised to make sure Jeff is home I have an induction around my due date, I know there is obviusly no real way to tell as each women is so different, but becasue Jeff gets hom on the 24th and I am due on the 25th of July I dont want to go into labour early, so would you say taking something like EPO and maybe starting it a little latter would be ok or best to avoid, or will it just help with the induction aswell, and just a side note I would rather not have an induction at all.

I hope all of that made sence as even I find it very confusing LOL

sorry for Hijacking your post Laura.
