Sorry, hun. Mine was 7.9 at my 1hr test, and after the 2nd one was diagnosed with GD. I was borderline, so it wasn't too bad. You'll be taught how to manage it with diet and exercise.if you do have it. Just remember it's temporary, and if it's anything like my experience you won't even notice you have it. Good luck!

I can't remember my scores, but I was diagnosed with GD and had to control it with diet. If anything it was actually a blessing as it stopped me from gaining too much weight, so less to lose after DD was born!

As the 1 hr test is non fasting, it could be a case of what you ate earlier bumping it higher, so the fasting test can be more accurate. As an example, when my sister was pregnant and going for her test, they told her to eat her normal breakfast that day. For her, normal at the time was weetbix with honey and two glasses of orange juice, so naturally her test was off the charts, but after her next test she was given the all clear.

I actually lose weight when im pregnant. I have lost 10kgs this pregnancy.

I guess I'm really just hoping its not as I really don't want to be induced and really really don't want a c section. It really makes me anxious thinking about the possibility of either of those.

Hopefully you won't have GD, have to be induced or have a c/s if that isn't what you want, but FWIW I experienced all three during my recent pregnancy and none were as bad as I'd imagined them to be in my mind.

I had GD & managed with diet & exercise (no insulin). At no time did my OBS even consider nor talk to me about induction or a c-sect. There is no reason you would have to have either of these.

I had GD with DD, but I also went straight to the 2hr test instead of having the 1hr one first because I had weighed 112kg when I found out I was pregnant (I had lost 16kg by 16wks and stayed at that same weight for the rest of the pregnancy).

Mine was insulin managed from 35wks onwards as I couldn't manage it by diet alone any more (I couldn't be very active either being on semi-permanent couch rest).

They broke my waters at my request at 40+2 after 3wks of constant irregular contractions and DD was born in a successful 4hr 43min VBAC labour weighing 3.65kg (8 pounds).

In saying that I lost 6kg with DS and didn't have GD, and he was born at 41+5 by emergency c-sec weighing 3.774kg (8 pound 3).

Each baby is different and just because you have GD doesn't mean your baby will autmatically be "big" either. Stick to your guns and don't let any OB or midwife push you around and you can have a vaginal delivery WHEN your baby is ready to be born.

    Good luck hun!

I kept getting told my baby would be big, and she was born after induction at 39w+5 weighing 3.33kg (7lb 5oz)
