    Fundal measurement

How much stock should I put in my fundal measurement?

    At 29wks I measured 29cm.

Yesterday, at 33wks, I was measured at 36cm.

Does this mean big baby? Or what??

no, not necessarily, just that the baby is growing.
Its more the fact that the number is increasing thats important, becuase the babies position can affect it as well. As can the person taking it.

i was measuring spot on for my weeks until 34 weeks when i started measuring about 2 cms behind my dates this continue all the way to week 39 where i measure 36cms. at week forty i gave birth to a 3.850 kilo baby boy, by no means "little" so even though i looked and measured little my bub was just well hidden in there. dont stress too much about measurments xxx

I wouldn't be too concerned - they way the baby is lying can also have an impact on the measurement. For example at 29 weeks I measured 31 weeks and at 31 weeks I measured 31 weeks - but my OB wasn't concerned as the baby had moved position.

My midwife said its fine I wouldn't worry.
At 31 wks I measured 32 weeks, and this week (34) I'm back to measuring right. Just the babies position or maybe it had a little growth spurt in the last couple of weeks and will slow down again for a couple of weeks.

Thanks ladies, I just did some googling and it doesn't seem to be the most reliable method of determining baby's size anyway!

    We do worry ourselves sometimes...
