Georgi, you sound positive and that's the best way to be! Good luck, rest up, and your little man will be in the best hands when he arrives.

I'm so impressed by your wonderful optimism!! That tells me right there that you'll be a great mum to your little man. Amazing that you're not freaking out (although I'm sure you did a bit of that, too). You really know how to keep a steady head and you're very practical, which is so commendable. The doctors must you, I bet you're getting lots of attention up there from all the hospital staff.

I'm so glad your baby shower was a success and you got everything, verrrry uncanny timing, that. At least your husband isn't running around like a headless chicken trying to stock up on baby essentials.

    Georgi,
I'm so glad you have your laptop! I bet you are glad too! So good to read your post. I'm glad your DH managed to set the cradle up! I was even going to suggest if your DH needs any help at all with anything, give him my mobile number and i can help out in any way if you need it ok? So please don't hesitate to ask! I'm not far away.

That message i sent you for bubs yesterday must have helped! I'll send you another one....here it is.... "little man, listen up, you need to stay put because STILL your Mummy and Daddy can't compromise on a name they both like for you so you will just have to wait until they have decided. Another thing, you need to stay nice and warm and cozy in your Mumma's womb because TBH, it's just cold outside at the moment and spring hasn't even arrived yet!! So hang on a little bit longer for Mummy and keep growing nice and strong. We all can't wait to meet you but only when you are ready."

Big hugs Georgi xxx can't wait to come see you Sat.

You're doing so well stay strong

HI Georgi - you sound really positive so that's a wonderful thing. You may not know my story but I birthed my baby girl Imogen at the RWBH spot on 28 weeks. Different circumstances to you but we were there none the less. I am assuming you are in the lovely 6Bsouth where I am sure you will be cared for as beautifully and kindly (by almost everyone!) as I was.

You are in the absolute best place to have a premmie - the staff at NICU are second to none and the obstetric team know their stuff. Your little one is much bigger than mine (Im was 815grams) but he will be small - his recovery will be quicker the more days he stays in.

After your discharge you can stay next door at Ronald Macdonald house. It is not home but it is free and close to the hospital so you can be with your baby as much as possible.
My advice is keep a diary - write down everything that has and is happening. Take lots of photos, get on a good mobile phone plan! Contact the lactation consultant before the birth and learn how to hand express. That colostrum is liquid gold for premmies and so is the breast milk. Prem babies need breastmilk - it is the best thing for them. The lactation consultant will be only too happy to come to your room to talk to you.

If you need anything. If you need support - if it all gets too much you can pm me and I will give you my contact details. I would be happy to come up to Brisbane and lend you support.

YOur baby's chances of being a happy healthy baby are huge - it's a stressful time just live each moment, talk to your baby and try and relax.

Oh goodness Georgi, I was so shocked to see this post, but you sound like you're doing fabulously! So big big well done to you hun, and keep going well

Hopefully your little fella will stay put until next week - sounds like you've got an impatient one there! I'm happy to hear you got everything you need at your shower, and you are going to be a brilliant brilliant mumma to your boy! Thinking of you...
