glucose test

hi, have to have gluclose test on tuesday
i slightly remember having it with last pregnacy but that was 8 years ago lol
can anyone tell me what the drinks like,is it thick,yukky,hope wont make me gag,do you have to drink fast or do they give you time.thanks

It's like a very sweet lemonade - so slightly bubbly. It's not thick or gluggy - and you do have a bit of time to get it down, so don't panic too much about how you'll get it all in.

I have to do mine in the next week or so. It's more like lemonade but without the fizz. It's only a small bottle and you drink it in the room with the nurse so that they can see you have drank it all and write down the time. You then sit and wait for an hour in the waiting room or if it's the tolerance test you wait for 2hrs with blood tests at hour intervals.

I had this done last week and it just tasted like lemonade to me, nothing too bad

it tastes like flat fizzy drink , it wasnt to bad but it got sickly after a while, u need to drink it within 5 mins of starting it .

And as u cant eat before hand and i think the full on sugarness of it it made me sick after i had my blood test and a bit dizzy ..
