    GTT & fasting

I'm having my GTT tomorrow so I have to fast. Does anyone know how long I have to fast for? I just tried to call the pathologist lab but they are closed.

    Thanks,
    Dan.

OMG!! I am going to be absolutely starving!!! Might have to take a snack so I can eat asap.

I'm allowed to sip water in the fasting period aren't I?

Water is allowed. No tea or anything though. Fast 8-12 hours.

Water yep, but once you have the glucose drink you can't have anything
I had to lie down for mine because ms was still bad, eating sooo much for the three days, then nothing for 12 hrs made me a lot worse

    Good luck

If you do it first thing in the morning, then your sleeping time is most of your fasting time. It didn't affect me too badly, it was just boring sitting around waiting. Also, hubby decided he was hungry so went to get brekky, came back and ate maccas in front of me! The blood test lady told him off lol :P
