    Has anyone else experienced this?

I have been experiencing what I think are pretty decent Braxton Hicks for about a week now. When they start they are about 7 minutes apart and hurt (not just the pressure ones) Anyway went to see my OB on Friday pretty much just for him to say "yep u still have a pulse and yep there is still a baby in there now wheres my $80", and I told him that I was getting painful contractions about 7 minutes apart and he tells me that will happen doesnt even check me and sends me home. I thought this was really strange cos I thought he might of at least had a look to check if anything was happening but he wasnt interested.

Today I have dull period pain all the time with the Braxton Hicks that are about 7 minutes apart and at the end of the what I think is just a braxton hicks the pain goes to my back and kinda throbs. Ive had no shows at all yet. Im booked in to have an elective c-section on Monday at the crack of dawn so should I just wait it out and hope Im not racing off to the hospital this afternoon or go in and be checked. The hospital is 45mins away which is a little scary. If I sit down and dont do anything they go down to about 12 mins apart and last about 40 seconds where if Im up doing washing they go down to about 6mins apart and are real ouchy. They have to be the same amount apart for it to be labour all the time no matter what I think. Maybe I should just not do anything. That would be the logical thing to do. There u go I answered my own questions.

    Hi Jodie,
They could very well be real contractions. Some people are in the early stages of labour for days, so you could be in labour now. Conversly, it could be just be bh. Contractions become more severe when you move about. Mine were just like that.
Did you want a VB or really want a CS?
Either way, good luck.. your baby is almost here!

Hi , I'm not as far as you and havent had any experience with braxton hicks at all yet but it sounds like you are in pre-labour. Where I live we only deal with a GP and the midwife at the hospital and I would be ringing the hospital to talk to the midwife. Even if it just puts your mind at ease so you can get some stress free time until Monday. Hope that you can get some rest properly between now and then!

Jodie, I had what you describe for literally a month before Lexie was born.................enough to take my breath away and make me wince.......pre-labour....

Not necessarily Jodie, when I was in labour my contractions were 4 mins apart and managable in the bath, and 8 mins apart and verrry owie on land.

Just rest up I reckon. All the best with everything!
