    Head is Fixed

What does it mean to say that baby's head is 'very fixed'? Does it mean that the baby's head is starting to engage? I'm 36+2 and my OB told me today that baby's head is 'very fixed'.

I would assume it to be that baby is engaged and the term 'head fixed' would mean that there is no flexibility when they palpate the head. When baby isn't engaged and the Dr has a feel of the head by palpating your belly, it flexes back and forwards on the neck.

    I'd second what Trillian said.
I was told the same thing at about the same time by doctors. Fixed. Head down and Fixed. Sounds promising hun.
Good luck with the impending labour and birth of your precious one.

Thanks girls. I guess it means I'm getting closer to my due date. I hope I don't go over!
