thread: Headache before labor?

    Question Headache before labor?

Silly question... But I'm just wondering if anyone experienced a severe headache before the onset of labor? I'm 40+6 and last night experienced vision disturbance followed by headache and sensitivity to noise and light - typical migraine. I also experienced this once in early pregnancy and we put it down to hormonal changes. Probably a little wishful thinking and wondering if it could mean spontaneous labor is near? I'm being induced on Saturday anyhow.

    Thank you in advance.

No idea! But I hope you feel better soon, and that bub makes an appearance sooner rather than later for you

Perhaps check with the dr if you feel concerned about it.. might be a blood pressure thing?

Good luck! Sending some labour vibes your way

How awful for you, Catherine. I'd talk to your doc/midwife too, just to be sure it isn't BP related... I know that was a symptom that I was told to look out for when my BP was high.
How exciting that your baby is nearly here!

    Hey Catherine
Sorry to hear your not feeling great. It'll all be over soon. I had this once, and that was when my blood pressure was way to high! It went back down to normal very quickly, but maybe you should get in to have your BP checked?
Looking forward to you joining us in the OctoBabies thread!

My sister had about three days of migraines before she went into labour with her second. She normally has migraines with her cycle so they must be triggered by hormone changes. Mention it to your OB, though, just in case it is your BP.
Hope things get moving for you soon! Being overdue is brutal, I think! (And I only went one day over!)

Well - I'm not sure if it's a coincidence but... I'm in early labor! I have woken to a bloody show, leaking waters and mild intermittent pain. I'm feeling excited and nervous all at once.

Thanks for all the kind words ladies! X
