thank god I'm not the only one!! as for releif...I've found swimming and massaging round the pubic bone helps a great deal. Other than that not much else really works![]()
Hi all, im 33.5 weeks pregnant with number 2 and i have now got serious pelvic pain. It hurts when im sleeping, walking, or doing any thing for that matter. I've looked it up on the internet and found out info about it. ive just never experienced this before. i had my first at 30 weeks and had severe pre- eclamsia. this pregnancy is different so far, but the baby's head is so low its really killing me. hands and feet are swollen too,it just feels as tho its never going to end. the doctors say i should be prepared for bubs to come at any time due to history, so im taking it easy. i feel bad for wanting it all to be over and hate complaining to my partner about it but what more do you do???

Hey Kate, not sure if my pains are the same, they are more muscular... and I just try to keep my feet up and legs together as much as possible, ansd this seems to help.
Good Luck, hope all goes well.
mine are like someone stabbing me with a knife in my pelvic bone...and yes keeping the legs together helps too but doesn't stop the pain![]()
Hi Ladies
I am 28 and a bit weeks and have similar pain - been diagnosed with pubic symphasitis. Ice packs between the legs, phsyio and accupuncture have been helping.
Started about three weeks ago, and a bit better today than I was last week, but at one stage I could not move my legs without searing pain after sitting or lying for a while which was rather scary.
You need to avoid stairs and any movement which separates your pelvis (so things like breastsroke swiming are a no no).
I would recommend seeing a physio to get some advice on excercises and perhaps a brace (basically a big stretchy elastic belt worn very low over the hips with a padded clasp at the very front over your pubic area).
My husband has also ben given shown how to do some deep massage points on my lower back and buttocks area after applying a heat pad - I have Xs on my back in permanent marker!
Rest is also recommended (but easier said than done!)
Good luck
FINALLY!!!!!! something which explains what I'm suffering!!!!!
Pubic Pain
I have the same symptoms, so tom. will ring the midwife as the doc said it was cos I had a c-section and baby's head would bob down there - what crap!
Its like a stabbing sensation in the groin. When I get up off the couch or sometimes when Im going for a pee in the middle of the night it happens. They said you should avoid stairs as well, that explains why it happens when Im getting out of the pool!
Pelvic pain is a discomfort of pregnancy unfortunately and with your baby being so low, from now until time to deliver is going to be uncomfortable. Try taking warm baths and lying on your left side with a pillow between your legs. When sitting try to keep your feet up. Drink lots of water (this is a tidbit for every pregnant woman--dehydration can cause contractions so with your past history you need to drink lots of fluid and rest as much as possible.)
Take Care
