Default Help - ways to make labour progress!

My friend has been in hospital since last night and is considered to be in early labour as she was 2 cms dialated when she went in but has only progressed to 3cms since then. She's also been getting very regular and painful contractions. Her waters haven't broken and since she's only just over 35 weeks the hospital staff aren't too eager to break them for her. But at this stage they don't want to let her go home either.

Her bub is a good size and was given a shot to mature his lungs a week ago when there was concern he was coming then (due to bleeding and regular contractions)...so if he was born now he'd be ok.

So my friend is well and truly over it and feeling very emotional right now. We all know that bubs come when they are ready and that there really aren't too many ways to rush them out but if there are there any suggestions i can tell her to help make things progress such as positions, exercises(she's been trying nipple stimulation)??? they'd be much appreciated

At this stage of her pregnancy i would advice her to rest as much as possible to try keep bubs in their, we all know the longer they stay in the healthier bubs is...

But i also know what its like to want the pregnancy just to be over (hehe now i not pregnant i want to be again its a terrible cycle) : Nipple stimulation, Excerise, warm baths... Laying down dosn't help... But tell her to get rest as well!

    Good luck
