Herbal Tea & Post Partum Haemorrhage

I found this on the internet which I thought I would share:

Alfalfa, with its deep root system, contains many essential nutrients including trace minerals, chlorophyll and vitamin K, a nutrient necessary for blood clotting. Many midwives advise drinking mild tasting alfalfa tea or taking alfalfa tablets during the last trimester of pregnancy to decrease postpartum bleeding or chance of hemorrhaging. Alfalfa also increases breast milk, as alfalfa hay is fed daily to milking goats and other dairy animals.

Not sure if I like being compared to a lactating Goat, but it is an interesting concept nonetheless.

I'll have to remember this... I had a bleed after Em (about 800ml). So had a bung put in when in labour with Violet...jic. I started bleeding soon after giving birth and they shot.... something, can't remember what it is called, up the bung. Maybe if I tried alfalfa, it would help...?
