I just called the hospital and they said just keep an eye on things, if I have any more 'gushing' to come in. But I think it must have just been a once off thing.
JM I know, they are all young girls and they are always so fascinated and full of pregnancy questions lol. Hope you are feeling ok and that ms isnt giving you a hard time
If it was a small leak (which is really unlikely at this stage) then they can seal themselves back over. It is more likely that it was just mucous. At this stage it can become quite watery and thin and it probably built up and then when you moved to sit down it felt like it gushed out.
Thats what I am thinking Trill. I feel absolutely fine, baby is moving heaps, and no more fluid is coming out. Just wish the timing could have been better, like when I was at home maybe and not in a full uni class!?! Anyway, I am keeping an eye on myself, and DH is being extra attentive to me haha!
A very similar thing happened to me at 23 weeks in my first pregnancy. It was upon waking up in the morning and I totally gushed about 60 ml of fluid, enough to wet through all the layers on the bed. DH thought I accidentally did a wee but I knew where it came from. I called the hospital and they told me to put on a pad and wait a hour or two to come in since they were full. Nothing more came out that I could tell. They did a quick swab, went away for 10 minutes, and said it was just discharge. I kept asking them questions because I never knew you could have discharge that was just like water as it has always been more mucousy but they were right. I think if 6 hours passed without more then you're good to go. A tear in the amniotic sac would continue to leak.
