Question How early did you get BH? and did anything "bring them on?"

Gosh it feels weird posting in here!! My first 3rd trimester post!

Anyways - Just wondering about BH. When do people generally start getting them? I have been getting them on and off for about 3 weeks now. They arnt overly painful yet - but i have heard they get worse as pregnancy progresses. Mine are mostly uncomfortable and normally go away if i go for a walk. For some reason - driving tends to make me get them! very strange - and annoying given i have to drive and hour each way to and from work everyday!

Given that i am only just 27 weeks i thought it was strange that i am getting them so early. So i am just wondering - how early into your pregnancy did you get BH? and did anything specifically "bring them on??"

27 weeks isn't too early , I started getting them before I was 20 weeks with this bub and just after 20 weeks with my previous bub. They won't necessarily get worse, mine have eased right off now. I'm sure they'll be back later! I didn't really get them at all with DS1, just a couple towards the end. I can't think of anything in particular that sets them off. How annoying that they happen in the car! They are unpredictable things!

I only got mine in the last week before DD was born (so was 37 weeks). and strangely enough i ONLY got them walking. such a bummer at the time as i lurved going down to the corner store for my snack cravings LOL!

have you got a nice heat pack and some lavender oil to sprinkle on it?? i found that really helped with many aches and pains in those final weeks...

good luck sweet hope those BH give you a break every now and then!

I cant remember how early I got them but I tend to get them more when she is awake and active. I have an irritable uterus so have always had some that take my breath away.

Its funny you should say that Ali - bubs is always really really active for the first 20 min of the drive, and its about 30 -40 min in that the BH starts. I wonder if maybe its more the baby being active than the drive itself?

I've never had them with any of my pregnancies, which is a bit weird I think

I started getting them at around 17 weeks... I think my sister gets them early too. I don't know if it is related but I have had heaps and heaps of prelabour with this bubs... just doesn't seem enough to flick the switch into full blown labour..... so waiting waiting waiting!

I had my first one at about 19 weeks after resting an ice cold cup of water on my belly.
I found that exercise and sex often gave me BH in my last trimester.

I got them just after 20 weeks this time around - and my GP didn't believe me, told me it must be muscles stretching - uh, I think I know what they feel like by now!

Mine eased off at about 26 weeks (like Trish's, which is interesting - I thought I'd done something to make them stop! ) and are back in the last few weeks.

Certain movements can trigger them, and sex, other times they just happen.

With DS1 ...after 2 days of painless, regular 10 minute BH , they just merged seamlessly into labour ... so if that happens this time I will be on the alert!

I've been getting them for months now... Mostly they are just niggling and uncomfy... But lately (and sometimes before hand) they have been strong and painful... THings like working, walking, driving, eating certain foods and stress make them come on (kinda leaves me to do NOTHING) lol!

I started noticing them at 22 weeks. They got stronger and more frequent as my pg progressed. They were definitely worse at work (on my feet, running around alot), to the point where my Ob asked me to sit down and rest at work if I noticed they were getting 'too' strong. Finishing work at 32 weeks helped, and I never got to find out just how bad they would become because DS arrived at 35 weeks.
