I'm quite worried today, as I have barely felt bubs move. I felt a definite one this morning, and a handful of less distinct movements throughout the day that I can't be 100% if they were movements.
How long should I wait and worry before calling the midwives clinic? I feel like I've heard 12 hours somewhere? Should I just wait till tonight and see if bub perks up then?
If you can go and sit down with your feet up, have a big glass of orange juice or really cold water. Then wait, hopefully this will perk you bub up a bit.
Remember babies are like us and have up and down days. If you are in any doubt tho after that, give the MW's a call, they'll be able to tell you if they want you to come in or not - try not to worry! I'm sure bub is having quiet time
My Obs said that the baby will sleep a lot more towards the end and movements will change to what your used to because of the lack of room in there. He says as long as you feel 10 movements within 24 hours you should be fine. Try drinking a glass of cold water or having some chockie and lay flat on your back for a short while, close your eyes and rest your hands on your bump and I am sure you will feel your little man roll over or something a bit less subtle than what your used to.
If your really worried call your middy but she will probably say the same thing. Bubs sleep a lot so could be just having a lazy day!
Yep, something icy cold, even fizzy. Lay down. If no movements in half hour, call your middie or hossy and let them know. You can go up then and have a monitor put on.
It is completely normal hon, but you need to check for your piece of mind!!!
slurpees or slushies work really well.
I went in to the hospoital for monitoring 3 times in third trimester with DS. Never be worried about calling them. Its their job.
if you've been really active then bub wont move around as much (or at least you wont notice it). As the others have said, just sit and relax and have a cold drink.
I found when I was pregnant that putting something really cold on my belly often caused some movement. You could try that too.
I used to eat ice, but honestly if it was me and i was worried i would call them and see what they say, tell them how many times you have felt bubs move, if they are worried they will tell you to come in, if not they will tell you to wait however long and see how it goes. I would call them its not going to hurt.
I ate jelly babies or another sugary sweet to get my girls going and It worked for me everytime. Im sure bubs is having a rest and will be back kicking the daylights out of you in no time
Thanks for all your suggestions ladies . It's such comfort knowing I have all the lovely BB girls for support!
I had a bit of a lie down, and after a little while bubs started up a bit. He's given me a couple of decent movements now, so I'm feeling much, much better! He's still not being as active as he normally would, but I guess he's just having a quiet day.
Thats great, glad to hear that he is listening to you. I know I say to bump sometimes. Come on bump be a good boy and give your mummy a big kick and usually he will within a few minutes. I have noticed that he is pretty quiet in the mornings all the way through till afternoon and then starts up till I go to bed. Like now he is running a muck in there but only started up about a couple of hours ago. I hope he is not growing much more cause I seriously will split if he gets any bigger!
